Member of the Quarter for Q1 2025: The Pilot Club of Bishopville! We're so happy to shine a spotlight on this amazing organization. Not only do they do many impactful things in the community, they also always go out of their way to support other local organizations. And just like that, it’s official! City Mart had their ribbon cutting and grand opening today. There was a great turnout for the event. Owner Mark Morrar who, having been in business here since 2012, shared some words of gratitude and excitement to have his businesses grow within our community. Fletcher Smith of the SC SBSC spoke about the growth he has seen in Bishopville and the bright future for small business here. We are grateful to everyone who came out to support Chamber member City Mart as they hosted a successful event featuring giveaways, a meet & greet and of course, the absolutely delicious chicken!

We only had a couple of entries, which is not enough to bolster the event. Although this event will not be taking place, we are excited to announce that we have other activities and opportunities in the works for that day. We will be sharing more information soon, so stay tuned for updates! We appreciate the interest expressed by those who did register, and we regret any inconvenience this cancellation may cause to you. We will refund the registration fees today. Once Helene moves ashore, the storm will move more rapidly northward, resulting in a wide area of strong, tropical-storm-force wind gusts over the southeastern US. High rainfall projections may range 8-15” over the Upstate with lesser amounts of 2-4” in the Pee Dee. Introducing the LEEdership Summit Speakers-Quinetta Buterbaugh Quinetta Buterbaugh is a district manager for government and community relations in SC for Duke Energy. In this capacity, she is responsible for issues management, public relations, corporate contributions and community relations programs for a five-county region in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina. Buterbaugh holds a Master of Science degree in management and leadership from Coker College, a certificate in Executive Management from Francis Marion University and the Institute for Organization Management designation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
